This is how it looked when I brought it home from the bike shop.

I removed the stock pedals, fenders, seatpost, seat, and bar tape.

I started the build by replacing my seat/post with my Brooks B17 and bontrager post off my other bike.  Added my large trunk bage to carry essentials.  Also put on my Shimano dual sided pedals and a Petscher two leg kickstand.

Next I removed the bar wrap and added Aztec Vibe Wrap 2.0.  It's a set of memory foam pads that attach to your bars where you need it.  I wraped over that with Profile Design black cork/gel wrap.

Next I attached the Planet Bike Hardcore Fenders.  I had to mess with the mounting on these due to the disc brakes.

The next part was the hardest part, the Surly Nice Rack.  Although the mounting hardware allowed for disc brakes, the bracket touched my caliper and caused the brake to rub.  I may end up making a custom mounting bracket, but I managed to get it attached.  After several hours of work I have now have a gimpse of what the finished product will look like.

I went to the hardware store yesterday and grabbed some pieces and parts to fix my racks.  The front Surly Nice Rack, doesn't quite work with my disc break.  I fabricated a piece of steel plate to allow clearance of the disc and properly attach the rack to the braze on.

I had the same issue with my rear Tubus Logo rack.  For this I used a 2.5" L bracket.  I rounded the corners to reduce sharp points and give it a finished look.

The Jamis rack that came with the bike is a decent rack.  The way they made it to work around the disc breaks is questionable for heavy loads, but for light loads it will work fine.  I plan to paint the rack black to match the front Surly Nice Rack.  I'll use the Jamis rack around town and on training rides.

This is a picture I took while on a tour in May.  The Jamis Aurora Elite is the best  touring bike on the market today.
